Innovva participates in Tektónica, an international construction fair in Portugal

The construction and public works sectors were in evidence during the 21st edition of Tektónica, which took place from May 8th to 11th in Lisbon and is a leader in the construction segment in Portugal. The fair presented the tendencies of the sector, betting on attracting international buyers.

Tektónica continues to focus on supporting companies, promoting the internationalization of the construction sector and exploring opportunities in the domestic market, in a year in which the construction sector in Portugal is estimated to grow by around 4%, according to FEPICOP - Portuguese Federation of Construction and Public Works Industry.

In this edition, Tektónica focused on two major themes: rehabilitation, focusing on remodeling, efficiency and sustainability; and internationalization, with large meetings and B2B meetings between professionals, as well as the implementation of the Hosted Buyers program.

The fair was held in five salons with the following approaches:

• SK - International Exhibition of Ceramic Flooring, Bath, Kitchen and Natural Stones

• SIMAC - International Exhibition of Materials and Equipment

• TekGreen - Salon of Renewable Energies, Sustainable Construction and Social Responsibility

• TekWood - Wood and Cork Industry Fair

• TekMachines - Machinery and Equipment

The fair occupied an area of 20,400 m², with the participation of 350 exhibitors and about 32,500 visitors. Thus, Tektónica continues to consolidate its position as a platform for national and international business, serving as a tool for companies that are looking to launch themselves in the market and others that seek to consolidate their participation in an increasingly competitive sector.

Tektónica has verified, on the one hand, an increase in new exhibitors, as well as a loyalty rate of around 42%, demonstrating that it is an event capable of maintaining companies and reinventing themselves annually.

One of the innovations was the "Tek Talks", a space for presentation and discussion amongst the sectors, professionals, technology, digitization, tools, raw materials and brands, not to mention the debate about the future of the sector. There was a guiding theme every day. On May 8th, energy efficiency was discussed under the theme "Energy Efficiency in Construction as a Guarantee of the Permanence of Life on Earth". On the 9th, the theme was the new materials, under the theme "New Materials and Circular Economy", on the incorporation of new materials, either in construction or rehabilitation, in the local or central projects, in the construction in height, buildings of offices or services and private construction, among others. In this talk, energy efficiency was addressed in its cycle: from the research phase (production), in the choice and decision phase (design) to the guarantee of consumer demand (sustained sale).

On the 10th, the theme was "Industry 4.0 in Construction", which emphasized the involvement of the economy and society in the new era of construction 4.0 in regards to creating new profiles, generating more jobs, guaranteeing less waste, facilitating the hiring process and mediating conflict. Some adjacent solutions to a growing bet on state-of-the-art technology and virtual reality already bring promising results, such as high definition geolocation, the use of the BIM methodology in the design of projects and the implementation of management systems for process integration and digitization.

The “Tek Talks” were a new format in Tektónica, which provided professional visitors and international buyers with an informal and relaxed debate, where construction and architecture, focusing on sustainability and rehabilitation, were at the heart of the talks.

"The fair was an excellent opportunity for participants to delve into current issues such as energy efficiency, circular economy and construction 4.0 for example. We talked to several exhibitors and potential clients. It was excellent to participate in this event in Portugal, which is currently experiencing a boom in the construction industry, "concludes Manuella Borgers, architect and co-founder of Innovva.
